E-Commerce Grant
INTRODUCTION
The Scheme, introduced in 2002, provides assistance for Small
and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to integrate them into the mainstream of
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in order to enhance their
competitiveness in a liberalised market environment.
The Objectives of E-Commerce Grant are:

To encourage participation from
SMEs in E-commerce activities; |

To provide alternative channel to
market their products; and |
 | To enable SMEs to reach out to the global market through
utilisation of Internet technology |
FORM OF ASSISTANCE
The maximum grant allocated per company is RM10,000.
Assistance is given in the form of a matching grant where 70% of approved
project cost is borne by the Government and the remainder by the applicant.

Priority
Priority will be given to SMEs which:
 |
Manufacture products or involved
in activities or services promoted under the Promotion of Investments Act (PIA),
1986. |
 | Participate in the Industrial Linkage Programme (ILP). |
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
 |
Companies incorporated under the
Companies Act, 1965 |
 |
Manufacturing companies or
companies providing manufacturing related services**
with an annual sales turnover not exceeding RM25 million and with full-time
employees not exceeding 150; and |
 | At least 60% equity held by Malaysian. |
**Manufacturing related services
 |
Engineering support services such as
calibration, electroplating, machining, heat treatment, metal casting, metal
forging; |
 |
Specialised services such as warehousing, bulk
breaking, international procurement centre, haulage; |
 |
Maintenance and repair of factory machinery and
equipment; |
 |
Software development such as CAD, CAM, CAE, ERP,
CIM, SCM, CRM |
 |
Automation of production line;
|
 |
Design houses; and |
 | Packaging services. |
