1. Process Tree

Statistical Process Control

In iCT-M, Statistical Process Control appears in two aspects:

  • SPC Enterprise
  • SPC Projects.

In SPC Enterprise, the user can set up a Process Tree and assign a directory structure for all equipment used within a company. Any SPC chart can be assigned to that equipment in a schedule. Clicking on the SPC icon will then invoke that SPC method.

In SPC Projects, the user can set up an SPC method directory in the storyboard or checkerboard Project Flow.

A Process Tree is set up in iCT-M: Setup: Method: Process Tree. A Process Tree holds information about the equipment held in a company. This information is held in a directory structure.

When equipment is moved around, e.g. new machines or obsolete machines, the Process Tree can be updated to reflect changes.

2. Schedule

Schedule:

As can be seen, the Schedule groups equipment as it appears in the Process Tree and then crosses it with all the available Statistical Process Control methods. The resultant direct product range (of cells) allows the user to click on it to create an instance of that SPC method assigned to an equipment.

Once a record is created, the record is always associated with that equipment in any Process Tree. This essentially mean a report card system of all the equipment in a company.

Note that equipment can be classified under Process, Facilities, Office and Gages.

Once an SPC method is invoked, iCT-M allows the user to complete that SPC method easily. The records are always available from the schedule. Shown here is a Precontrol Chart Capability study.

Note also that the New tab allows the user to have more than one Name of the Study to facilitate process improvements of the equipment. For example, the user may want to re-study a machine after retrofitting a new set of machine parts.
